By downloading and using GreaseTrail, you agree to these terms of use. Do not use the app if you do not agree to these terms.

The app

GreaseTrail is a free app that lets you track maintenance, oil changes, and mileage for your car, motorcycle, or other vehicle. The app is free to download and use: no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no hidden costs.

No account is required to use GreaseTrail. See the privacy policy for more on how your data is handled.

Permitted use

You may use GreaseTrail for personal, non-commercial use to track maintenance on your own vehicle(s). You may not:

  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy parts of the app beyond what's legally permitted;
  • use the app in a way that disrupts its operation for other users;
  • sell, rent, or sublicense the app or any derivative work of it.

Disclaimer

GreaseTrail is a tool for logging your own maintenance data and setting reminders. It is not a substitute for your vehicle manufacturer's maintenance schedule, warranty terms, or recommendations.

You're responsible for entering data correctly and for actually having maintenance performed. We are not liable for damage to your vehicle, missed maintenance, or other consequences arising from your use of — or reliance on — the app.

Limitation of liability

GreaseTrail is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, regarding its operation, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

Intellectual property

The app, including the GreaseTrail name, its design, and source code, remains the property of the developer. These terms grant you no ownership rights in the app, only a personal, revocable right to use it as described above.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may modify, update, or discontinue the app at any time. We may also update these terms of use; for significant changes we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms of use are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
